Before and 2 months after Radiofrequency surgery to remove a benign mole without needing sutures and no post operative pain. Note the hair pores are smaller as the patient also had a single treatment with the Fractional 1540nm erbium:glass laser. The most important aspect of this process is a good clinical diagnosis, so it is essential to see competent doctors who can diagnose the skin lesion using a dermoscope.  

 

If there are any features of the skin lesion that look to be suspicious then a traditional excisional biopsy is recommended.

 

This method is suitable for safe looking skin lesions.  All suitably removed tissue is sent for histological examination.  Pathology/Histology service is free to all New Zealanders.  For Non-residents, the cost of histology is additional.

 

After the shave biopsy specimen is removed, the Ellman Surgitron smooths out the borders, and stops any bleeding. Through this process, it seals any nerve endings giving you a painless result. The results are far superior than that that can be obtained with normal surgery.
